The Unexpected Snoozer

There’s a common misconception that newborn photographers have some kind of baby-whispering superpower. Truth is, we can know every pose in the book—but at the end of the day, it’s entirely up to the baby.

This little beauty? She had us fooled at first. Wide-eyed, alert, and clearly unimpressed with my swaddling skills. We thought we were in for a full session of awake shots (and possibly some cardio). But then… like magic… she drifted off. And once she did? It was game on!

We flew through poses like seasoned pros in a newborn Olympics—swaddles, tulips, tiny hands tucked just right. She gave us just enough time to capture the creamy, dreamy goodness before calling it quits.

Newborn sessions are part art, part patience, and a whole lot of reading the room (or the baby). And when it all comes together—it’s pure magic.
